Beauvais' Cathedral Wooden Supports

The poor people of Beauvais had their Cathedral collapse TWICE while they were building it, with a one hundred year hiatus in the middle during the XVth century, when France was in such a sorry state they had no money to do anything. They've had to double the number of pillars in the Choeur, which is too bad, and since the nave was never built, they've also had, more recently, to add big wooden support beams to hold the transept together.
