Thanksgiving in Albi
Ivonne, with a little help from yours truly, prepared a true Thanksgiving diner for five, my parents, Charles and us. It was perfectly cooked, neither dry nor rosé, with a tasty, juicy stuffing, and some home-made mashed potatoes and a cranberry jelly. I contributed stringbeans and some low-brow gruntwork.
Dad whipped out a bottle of Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape from my birth-year 1974 : 30 years old!
And it was still going strong. Musky and peppery, balanced, still a bit of tanin. A wonderful moment, and a fitting tribute to that terroir!
