The Deportation Memorial in Paris

Behind Notre Dame de Paris, at the tip of the island, there is a small memorial, very discrete, completely hidden underground. It was placed there to maintain the memory of the 200,000 French who, to quote : "disappeared into the night of barbarity". It's always a moving, quiet place, nothing on the scale of Yad Vashem, I imagine, but still a sobering atmosphere.
