Terra Incognita Humana...

JB enraptured at the Terre Humaine expo...

Just met up with my old, old friend JB, who lives in Thailand, and was visiting us in Paris. We met at the Très Grande Bibliothèque to visit the Terre Humaine expo.

Terre Humaine is a well-known collection of books about ethnology, which has since diversified into all aspects of the human condition. I bought a book about Paris homeless people, another about peasants in Brittany, and the first one in the collection, from 1952, about the Inuit.

The best part of the expo, aside from being free ;) , were the bits of video archives of the authors talking on various French talk shows about their work.
